Best Time to Tan ☀️
💛 No tan is 100% safe — just for fun. SPF up, sip water, and listen to your skin.
how is this calculated?
We pull today's hourly UV + weather for your location from Open-Meteo (NOAA & ECMWF models).
Your skin, goal & boldness set a target sun strength — your even-tan sweet spot. The sun crosses it twice (morning & late afternoon); midday is skipped because that's when burns happen fastest.
We also weigh clouds, rain, temperature & humidity — a rainy window gets skipped, and if today's no good we scan the next 7 days for your best bet.
how to tan evenly
- ⏱️ Flip on a timer. Rotate every ~10–15 min — front, back, then each side — so no part bakes while another stays pale.
- 🔄 Hit every side. Beginners do front + back and forget the sides → patchy. Cycle all four.
- 👙 For crisp bikini lines, don't move the fabric. Keep straps & bottoms in the exact same spot all session — shifting them blurs the line.
- 🧴 Reapply SPF after every flip and after a dip in the water.
- 🪞 Judge by color, not by feel. By the time a side "feels done," it's overcooked — check evenness in a mirror.
